Feelings Wheel

People tend to have a difficult time accurately identifying and expressing their emotions. Often when I ask for feeling words in sessions, I receive responses like “good”, “I had a busy week”—note this is not a feeling!, or the question is overlooked entirely.

Use this feelings wheel to work on expressing how you feel. Start with the innermost circle which displays basic emotions. Once you identify which basic emotion you’re feeling, branch out to the middle circle of feelings words, and if you want to get even more specific move on to the outermost circle of words. This is a wonderful tool to get you on the path to expressing yourself!

Be well.
